At Kirtland Credit Union, we understand that a government shutdown can cause uncertainty and financial stress. Our Member Assistance Program (MAP) offers support options tailored to help you manage your finances during this challenging time.

If a government shutdown affects you, we have several relief options available that you may find helpful and qualify for.

How We Can Help

If you’ve been furloughed or your pay has been suspended due to a government shutdown, you may qualify for:

  • Courtesy Pay fee refunds
  • No penalty for early share certificate withdrawals
  • Fee waivers for wire transfers and cashier’s checks
  • Late fee waivers on consumer loans and credit cards
  • Relief Loan – short-term, 0% interest loan*
  • Payment deferrals on consumer loans and credit cards
  • Loan amount: Up to the amount of your most recent monthly paycheck
  • Term: Up to 6 months
  • First payment due: Up to 60 days after loan funding
  • Required documentation: proof of government furlough or suspension of pay
  • Defer a loan or credit card payment for the current or following month
  • Certain loans may qualify for payment deferral depending on how the request is processed
  • Additional deferrals may be available in special cases
